I am a future international transfer student, planning to major in Communications Studies at UCLA (it’s a pretty competitive major) and can I take the major prereqs at alison.com to increase my chance of getting accepted into UCLA? I am currently doing my diploma (which is same level as an Associate Degree in the US) in Corporate Communications (here’s the program link: http://www.kptm.edu.my/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=267&Itemid=242&lang=en ). So let’s say if I can’t take the prereqs at alison, can a gpa of 4.0 with great EC and major-related work experience (I plan to work for a few months after graduating from the diploma) earn me an admission at UCLA?

Really, your best bet is to attend a California Community College. Almost any other option is not worth your time or money if your goal is UCLA or any of the UC’s.
