Easier colleges and higher GPA

Since a lot of top colleges are known for it's strict grading and lower grades (MIT, for example), for the purposes of getting into a good medical school, is it worth it to go to an easier college to get more As in your classes and a better GPA?

Actually, lower end colleges are known for grade deflation. Practically, all top colleges (with a few exceptions) are known for grade inflation. That said, I still think elite colleges are harder than state schools, esp. when you compare MCAT scores (a 3.8 student at Harvard is likely to outscore a 3.9 student from a state school). But, elite colleges offer distinct advantages: easier to get internships, smaller classes, more research opps, etc. In the end, the best thing to do (and we've said this a million times) is to go to the college that you like best w/o trying to extrapolate your future GPA at each school.
