Do Northwestern undergrads have a higher rate of acceptance into Kellogg than graduates of other Top 10 schools? Is this something to consider in deciding between NU and an Ivy?

i am pretty sure that northwestern does favor their own undergrads over other school
i think northwestern ungrads are the most represented at northwestern's grad schools

I don't have a definite answer as NU b-school doesn't publish ug representation data. Law schools tend to be more willing to make this type of data public and it's common to see they do give some advantage to their own ug. By the way, NU law school is also one of the best. :)

in response to three6mafia, that's true. However, you need to look a little deeper-for instance feinberg. Since there's the two programs for feinberg (HPME and the premed scholars), that locks a bunch of NU kids into feinberg, and feinberg wants other kids too, thus making getting into feinberg more difficult if you're not in those programs. However, i have heard that HPME is not accepting anymore students in the near future, so that could be a "good" thing for NU undergrads

HPME is definately going to continue, but they will cut the entering class size to 35 in order to get more people from NU undergrad to Feinberg from premed scholars.

To get into Kellogg, you don't necessarily have to major in econ, do you? Im a Northwestern undergrad majoring in History and Communication Studies, and I really wanna go to Kellogg, but it just seems that so many people assume that you have to be an econ major to do that?

for LaCoralie, no you dont have to be an econ major.
