I have 1480 SAT and 4.0 unweighted GPA. I want to apply to an ivy league school but one I have a chance at getting into. Any response is appreciated.
Cornell Human Ecology or Hotel School, NOT Arts and Sciences. Penn Dartmouth Brown??
@ preppedparent not true at all. It is all about the fit. If you have absolutely nothing to show besides your grades and sat score, you will not get into those schools.
Also adcoms can smell "Ivy Fever’ a mile away.
I’m also considering studying something in business or social sciences if that helps.
I have a bunch of leadership roles such as a head swim coach for my town swim team, working at a camp as a counselor, over 300 student service learning hours, varsity cross country, varsity swimming, varsity lacrosse, and President of Foreign Affairs club.
Liasol, not sure why you mean by fit. If you have what they need, then yeh, URM, recruited athlete or from North Dakota or legacy always helps.
You are a reach for all of them but stats are good enough to have a chance at all of them. Your chance is probably roughly the admission rate, 5-10% depending on the school. Pick two, maybe three and apply. Harvard doesn’t offer business as a concentration. Wharton is the pinacle for business undergrad but has a smaller admission rate than other colleges at Penn. spend time on the websites and YouTube to get a feel for schools.
I believe only two Ivy League colleges offer business majors.
In general, Cornell is slightly easier to get into than the other Ivies, but it does depend on fit. Also, don’t confuse easier with easy. Cornell is not easy to get into.
