Eastman and NEC prescreening piano

Does anybody know how many pianists are eliminated for undergrad piano perf at eastman and/or NEC??

I don't think that any of the schools for prescreening have a set number that they want to audition. They listen for students that they want to hear again. My understanding is that in the pre-screening round, they are fairly generous, giving students the benefit of the doubt when they can. However, as in most things, there are students who it is obvious that they are not at the level they need to be and a live audition would only waste everyone's time and money.

Once you hit the live audition, focus changes. Each school will only have so many openings for each instrument. Each school will admit more students than they have openings based on expected yield. Some years there are more openings than others. Therefore, a very talented student could have a great audition and still not get accepted or get put on the waitlist.
