Come On Guys, Give Me Some Easy Majors

go to UCI if you're looking for something easy. :)

hey man, enough with the UCI bashing.

Women's studies

how does a student change his/her major? and when can it be done?

fill out a form. WHENEVER, just have to declare by ~90 units completed here

anything else???

anything else???

sociology, ethnic studies, geography, environmental science

those are the easy majors that come to my mind.

engineering majors are difficult but vary in difficulty. mechanical and civil are considered easier than electrical, computer or chemical engineering.

the natural sciences are difficult

econ and history, at the better schools, is difficult and competitive.

doesn't matter if it's easy, only thing that matters is if you like it

sweet, i think i might go psychology...any thoughts?

hurricanh has the right idea...

most kids in college do extremely well if they ENJOY what they are doing. if you do not like what you are learning, it just won't sink in to your brain. and if it does, you'll just be an unhappy person.

psych is a pretty straight forward major. i wish ihad done psych

hey doc,
did you receive a call from a msp student a few weeks ago? the med student who called me majored in economics. i am still thinking about what to major in. does anyone know anything about the music department?

I think you're misguided in your search for an "easy major", docontheroc. What other people have said is the way to go -- major in something you like. That means you'll enjoy your time as an undergraduate instead of hating it or just waiting for it to end.

(Though I will admit that I'm taking my first psych class this quarter, and it's almost enough to make me wish I had majored in psych.)

Plus, you have to take certain classes anyway, no? (judging from what I've seen of your other posts), and I really believe that if you're enjoying the course material, it'll be easier to get the grades you need to maintain your GPA. Rather than just passing the time, why don't you pick something you like? You have the unique opportunity to really enjoy undergrad. Don't squander it.

This is the list of requirements for a music major, qtpie: http://music.ucsd.edu/ugrad/ugrad_music.html.

thanks, guest! i decided rather than search for an "easy" major, i should study what i really like....biology! so i will stick with the human bio major, and minor in music. at least, that's how i feel at this moment!

Cool, qtpie. If you have any specific questions, I can try to help you out.

thanks for all the great input

I think I'm going to start out as a psych major. If it doesn't suit me, I can always change later.

hey, qtpie, we should probably get to know each other a little bit before schools starts. Shoot me an IM: Lordakiyama

ok, i will!
