Thanks!! That looks delicious!
LOL, went to a casual cookout tonight and one guest brought a Costco cheesecake; tasty. We brought S’mores ingredients (including long handled forks) for the fire pit.
Loved Crook’s Corner - sad that it closed
Sorry, not cheesecake, Costco key lime pie!
Both are very good but gosh they are huuuuge!
Just made the Key lime pie after ordering the lime juice on line. Huge hit! I and H, D and SIL loved it, nice tart taste. I bought a store bought graham cracker crust and baked it for 15 minutes at 350. The topping was my first attempt at making whipped cream topping. Proud I did that right, too.
SIL wanted the recipe and I gave him the extra bottle I ordered
Any gluten free and dairy free suggestions? Just fruit and cool whip ,
Like an ambrosia salad? Anyone try a dairy free ambrosia salad with coconut yogurt? I have not tasted coconut yogurt.
So glad you all liked it!
I’m GF/DF and have successfully made the dump cake I posted above with GF/DF dry cake mix and whatever you substitute for butter when baking. I use Country Crock Plant based. (King Arthur, Betty Crocker or Bob’s Red Mill all have GF that are also DF, but always check labels to make sure).
King Arthur GF brownies are the best. I’m always asked to bring the brownies. People prefer those even though they are GF/DF.
I’m about to make the Nellie & Joe’s bottle key lime pie again today. I had company last weekend, and I’ve posted another thread about ds bringing his girlfriend here to meet us this weekend. Especially living in Florida, key lime pie is kind of my go-to dessert.
You can always know that I have company coming when I make a key lime pie and do toilet paper origami in the guest bathroom.
Thanks, sounds good!
I make a very similar ambrosia using DF yogurt and DF coconut whip (similar to cool whip). Tastes great! I took it to a pot luck in June.
The coconut taste comes from the coconut, not much from yogurt or whip. Or I’m just used to it since this is how I make it.
Thanks!
@taverngirl - based on @rockymtnhigh2 liking the pie so much I bought the ingredients yesterday and I’m going to make it this weekend.
