EC elaboration on common App

My two main "passions" are photography and biology/research/science. So.... for the most meaningful EC activity.. I'm not sure which I want to put. I have a fair amount of photography awards and photography-related extracurriculars ... as well as research/science awards. I'm afraid that if I write about photography, it'll be like ... "aw, what a wimpy favorite EC..." ... while science seems like a more "solid" EC to have. Which should I write about?

also, if I do end up writing about photography, do you think it'd be lame if I wrote about it for my long essay? I know most of the top colleges value science over things like photography.... =/

write about the one you enjoy doing more. The finished product will sound better and your passion will show

I really do enjoy both... =/

hmmm photography sounds like a more interesting essay topic thoughh....but whatever you choose is fine. just make it good

write about whichever one the rest of your application is going to support, so that you develop a passion in the app. don't say your app supports both, that's impossible.

uhh, if you saw my stats, they would definitely support both.

my stats include... i've been president for multiple years of every science-related club in my school, worked in a lab for four years, won multiple biology/research/science awards, taken lab courses outside, doubled up on science courses, and tutor science.
I also have had my own photography exhibit, won many local awards for photography, won or placed in three national photography competitions, am president of photography club, run a photography website, am a school yearbook, newspaper, and literary/art magazine photograper, have had my work published in magazines... have demonstrated interest in the arts overall by taking multiple art/photo courses each year in high school...

I'm not sure about what to do, because between photography and science... I'd have to say that photography is more of a very extensive hobby, while science is a hobby+academic subject... and i've been pretty consistent at them for all of high school.
what do you think? please give me some suggestions! thanks!

If your intended major fits with either then choose that one. If anything, write two EC essays and pick which one is stronger.

I wasn't going to declare my major until later.. but... then I guess science it is.
