Is it realistic to expect to be able to participate in varsity athletics (DIII level) and music groups (I play jazz bass... and I want to keep on playing it...) duing undergrad?

Right now I'm leaning towards a Philosophy or Sociology major with a premed track too... hopefully at a LAC. But We'll see. I just don't know what kind of time obligations are expected during the premed years...

Visarale, D did DIII athletics and pre-med. That was hard enough. The day was usually jam packed. One advantage we found was that the runners were partiers but also reasonable because they were competing once per week and usually kept themselves sane by having the exercise. There were only a few pre-meds on the team and they were supportive. Others, not so much. Not sure how much time committment the music would be, but from what I've heard it can vary quite a bit from school to school. If you've narrowed your list, is it possible to get connected to current students at the schools you are considering and have a discussion? Even if you haven't narrowed the list, you could contact coaches in your sport at some LAC's and ask for contacts. Coaches were quite supportive with those types of questions when D was looking.
