EC involvement

I'm a high school senior planning to transfer out of the college I am attending this fall. I will likely apply both as a sophomore and as a junior transfer.

Mindset and intangibles aside, objectively, what can I do in terms of ECs at this point? I've never had ANY leadership positions in high school, and my GPA is low (3.3). I don't know what constitutes a significant EC. I know that a lot of applicants to top schools competed in prestigious nationwide competitions and the like. I know that sounds so foolish to say but I'm just using that as a reference point: what is the equivalent of such activities in college? I just want to be incredibly involved and accomplished in my first year of college. In doing such, could I realistically become a competitive applicant to top schools despite my pretty much nonexistent high school resume?

I found this nonfiction writing contest whose winner receives $5,000. I honestly don't know if people even do these. I don't know where to start...

I always make these kinds of threads, and people might think I don't listen to the advice. I honestly don't know why I'm making a thread about ECs again. Perhaps the advice I'm always given just isn't satisfying...

wrong forum, lol. my baaaad
