I'm only 14 but I know what I want to do with my life. My goal is to eventually manage my own hedge fund and am trying to shape my education for that. Before I manage my own hedge fund I plan on getting an internship at a hedge fund in college and work at an IB after I graduate. I just have some questions regarding what to do in college. I'm hoping to attend MIT for my undergrad and Harvard for my MBA. I am planning to double major in Economics and Mathematics at MIT, get an internship at HF junior or senior year, and then get a job at an IB when I graduate. After a few years of IB I hope to go to Harvard for my MBA.

Please critique my plan!

Thanks!!

It is an ambitious plan! After reading your plan, three words pump into my mind-money never sleep. One question: do you actually know what HF does?

In about 6 or 7 years if you’re actually going into Ibanking, you’ll look back on this post and wonder how you could have been so misinformed.

Yes I do what a HF does and it’s not just for the money. I actually do love trading and finance. I have been wanting to go into finance since I was 10 years old, for some reason I am drawn to it. And by the way I’m just going into IB for a couple of years because it will look good for prospective investors of my hedge fund. Do you think I should do something else rather than IB or what should I add to my plan.

P.S. I want to start my hedge fund by the time I’m 32.
