Just wondering: will the economic crisis affect the financial aids policies for transfer applicants? Any input?

It is affecting schools in that some private lenders that had agreements with schools are backing out of those agreements or the banks are just failing completely. And do keep in mind it is virtually impossible to get a large loan in this country at this point in time. Though I did look into Salliemae which is the largest provider of student loans in the country both federal and private and they seem to be okay for the most part. I did read they're getting stricter on who they give out loans to though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, financial aid provided by private schools (outside federal loans/funds) comes from the school's endowment, however much money they want to put toward giving students aid. So they should at least remain largely unaffected by all of this.

Some lenders are dropping out of the Stafford program, esp. at the community college and trade school level
