I apologize in advance if this topic was already covered over the past weeks but i am curious about it.

I have seen a couple of threads regarding the impact that our economy will have on how students and their families may change where they will submit applications. I have seen responses indicating that elite schools will not be impacted and bargain state schools will see a rise in applications and attendances. It is the in-between expensive but not elite schools that will feel the impact.

What I have not seen is the reverse. What do CCers predict the impact on acceptances will be in the various categories of colleges? Should any of these schools have two applicants that are equal in every other way, do you think that financial need will sway a college toward one student vs another? Will this vary depending on the type of college to which the application was submitted? What are CCers thoughts on the '09 admissions process from the college's side of the process?
