Hi, I’m Shafkat from Bangladesh, and I’m currently in the 11th grade. I wish to attend college in the USA, so I’m looking for good summer programs. I had applied for the FTE Economics for Leaders program, and was accepted in my first choice(Yale). Is this prpgram really selective, and is it worth attending? Will this add value to my college application(I wish to study economics). Is it worth the expense and time, provided that I’m going to have to travel half way around the world? Thanks in advance!
Hi my daughter has been accepted to this program. She is going to the one at Oberlin College in Ohio. At first she was accepted to Yale but then we qualified to receive financial aid at Oberlin so she is going there. There are a lot of posts about the economics for leaders program on here. It seems to be somewhat selective. Someone on here said they choose one student for every two that applies. If you do a search on Google, it does seem to be a well-regarded program. It seems to open up doors for networking opportunities with other alumni from the program in the future. Whether it puts you over the top on a college application, I am not sure. My opinion is I think it looks good but I’m not sure how good. It does sound like it gives you valuable experience. I hope this helps. Good luck to you!
Thank you so much!
