ED and getting accepted

if i apply for ED for a particular school and get accepted, but there are some serious concerns on whether or not i can pay for it or not. am i entitled to go to that school regardless of my financial situations ?

If financial aid is a question and you need to compare packages, then applying ED does not make sense. If you apply ED you are making a commitment. There are occurrences when kids get out of it, but be warned that RD schools may know that you did so and not look at that favorably

“am i entitled to go to that school regardless of my financial situations?” If accepted, you are entitled to go. But you still have to be able to pay your portion of the bill and by their deadlines.

The usual question is, “If I am accepted and after their finaid offer, if any, I find I can’t afford it, can I back out?” The answer is yes. That’s for people who simply didn’t get the aid they expected or the merit awards they thought they qualified for.

But, in general, I agree that if you can’t afford it, after running through the NPC, considering carefully what your family and you can pay, then don’t put yourself in that position.

If you want the opportunity to compare financial aid packages I’d strongly suggest not applying anywhere ED.
