Lol, nevermind.

Is anyone else not a fan of the supplemental essay?

Me! Not that it matters anymore, I’m almost done with putting the finishing touches on both. But when I first read the Why Penn essay I seriously froze. I was like what?? Lol. It doesn’t really give much room for incorporating humor and personality. :/

Last month to change my life! Eh. Does anyone else feel like having a major meltdown? I know I do.

^^Haha. I agree! I felt the same way when I first saw the essay prompt! I think your “meltdown” will subside. I went through a series of 2 or 3 days where I was absolutely freaking out–like having to stop myself from hyperventilating every few minutes. Then I got over it, ha. I have a LOT of work to do on my application by I figure freaking out won’t help me much, so I’m trying to stay relatively relaxed. I’ve convinced myself that getting into a great school doesn’t matter as much as I once thought it did. I know I’ll get in somewhere and I figure where ever I end up going, I’ll find a way to love it.

Good luck to you! Hope you find a way to de-stress!

^winning attitude right there

Wow, I respect your attitude. Wish I could tell myself to calm down, but that type A personality kicks up every time. I think it’s getting better, though. Once the apps are in, there’s really nothing left to do but wait. Thanks for the encouraging words! And good luck to you, too.

lol thats weird, though im “type A” like u, but I’m not worried at all. I’m actually worried that im not worried (if that makes sense).

i just wish there was a time machine that would take us to dec 12th!

I wish there was a time machine that would take me back to freshman year.

Haha, I feel you craisin! I totally agree. But then I’m like hmm, 4 more years of high school?.. could I really handle that? Ha, I wish I could have a time machine and just go back and fix all of the little mistakes and then come right back to senior year. Yep, that would be super.

haha… come on guys! no regrets!

Why can’t the Why Penn essay really just say “Why Penn?”

I know, really! That would make things so much simpler. :)

guys i have a question about ED. What if the financial package is not sufficient enough for my family? can i get out of the contract and apply to other schools for regular admissions?

Don’t do that. You’ll be blacklisted.

aztennisplaya1-- Ignore IRJunkie. Absolutely! If, indeed, your family simply cannot afford Penn’s cost, Penn will let you out of your contract and you will still have time to apply elsewhere. However, because Penn will meet all of your demonstrated need, it happens relatively rarely that anyone has to ask to be let out of an ED contract at Penn.

If it’s your first choice, apply ED! (Unless you are hoping for a merit scholarship at another school and you’d like to weigh your options…)

20 days until we can relax (or freak out if you accidentally missed the deadline :P)

can anyone confurm if this is all i need for ED:

collegeboard sent sats and sat 2s
2 teacher recs mailed
counselor rec sent
common app and supplement
mailed ED agreement
mailed transcript

anything missing?

do recs and transcript have to be mailed? i thought there was an online option…

i’m so nervous…my test scores aren’t even close to par with you guys…
oh well!!

Essentially everything can be sent online. If your school has that option that is.
