ED at wustl

Hi guys, thanks for doing this!

Wustl is my dream school because of a specific program they have that isn't offered anywhere else
I'm an international applicant so a lot of things don't apply to me
For example, it is impossible to get a job or internship, we don't have the traditional extraccurriculars, etc
After conversion my GPA is around a 3.7 or slightly higher
I do the most difficult subjects available to me (they say)
SAT- 2170, all above 700, first attempt, not redoing
SAT II- registered for next month

Basketball school team from 9th-11th
Basketball club team in 10th
One of the few members of a student run NGO, we run a couple of miscellaneous projects
Won an intra school essay writing competition
School play (pretty prestigious)- 11th
TEDx organizing committee- 11th
Treasurer of interact club- 12th, organized a blood drive with highest number of donors ever (97)
MUN for two years
Debate team for one year
Internship through school at a local hospital
Spent one week at a special needs school to volunteer
I play the guitar (self taught)- 4 years, but no external qualifications
I write for a blog (not mine)
Book club- 1 year

I'm a decent writer so my common app essay should be ok
Really good recommendations

I've emailed the school and a student multiple times and shown specific interest in that particular course

Please chance me for WUSTL ED, along with BU, Wesleyan, the UCs, U of Virginia, Michigan, NC-Chapel Hill, Pitzer

Thanks a lot in advance!!

bump

I think as an international student you have a good chance. Your extracurriculars look good, and maybe the only thing would be your GPA for wustl. I think you’re a good match for the rest. Good luck!

Can you pay, first?

i think you have a good chance for wustl, but your test scores could be higher. for the other schools, they look like a match if you can get your SAT score up. ECs look good, but nothing extraordinary, though you have a good chance as an int’l student.

chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1691955-what-are-my-chances-top-tiers-west-and-east.html

Not exactly, I would prefer it (obviously) if I got even a little financial aid!

Thanks!!

You say that you don’t have the traditional extracurriculars yet you’ve done a lot of really cool EC’s - I think if you talk about finding ways to volunteer/have hobbies/blah blah even though that’s not really expected in your community that could really show off how much you’ve done. Everything looks good and I’d say you have a good chance. The only thing - are you just not re-taking the SAT because you won’t be able to in time for ED? If yes, then maybe take it again for the other schools because there’s a really good chance it would go up and then it’d be great for the other schools!

Yeah the next SAT is during my midterms and I’m doing the SAT IIs in November so there isn’t any time till December! So I’ll probably take it again in December. Thanks!!

WUSTL is obviously NOT a school that meets your full need…and it’s need sensitive. How much can you pay???

Not the full amount but I forgot to mention that I am, legally, an American citizen so that does make a certain amount of federal aid available to me as well.

oh okay that is very awesome! International status makes every thing 5 times harder, so…

Still WUSTL won’t give full aid because it’s both need aware and doesn’t meet full need for ALL applicants/
