ED BU Applicants for 2022

They don’t have to receive your CSS and FAFSA by Nov. 1. As long as you filed them before and are being sent soon. I had a problem with my FAFSA because for some reason it was shredded. But I called and they said it was okay and they don’t expect them by Nov. 1

@lacollege actually I remember reading that someone on the 2021 ed chat had their financial aid message changed

My Dad’s guess (he’s a lawyer so he’s great with phrasing and language) was that they have to make a financial aid decision for me for some reason (hopefully being accepted) but I don’t know… that is just one man’s opinion lol

@lacollege You sure they have ED II in Syracuse???

@terrier333 do you think it will have an impact on if i get accepted/deferred

@Joezzzzz Yeah, they do.

IM FREAKING OUT

I don’t remember if that meant anything… I don’t think so tho? Everyone last year who had the “thank you message” got accepted but no one said much about the aid part. Also, we could still be accepted and they could just be going one by one through applications for aid and haven’t gotten to us yet. Lets remain hopeful! @lacollege

@terrier333 ahh crossing my fingers we get in!!

@lacollege I didn’t know it before. I live in MA and I went to Syracuse many times. I love it, I might do the same thing!

What are your stats if you don’t mind sharing?? @lacollege

Do you guys really think they haven’t finalized the decisions for admissions and aid? I had a one on one over coffee with my BU admissions rep. She said that as soon as the apps are in by Nov 1, she makes a lot of the decisions right away, for the people in her rep area (part of Southern California). She also passes some on to the actual board

@terrier333 4.12w, 1250 SAT, 400+ volunteer hours. I don’t think I’ll get in because of my SAT but still hoping

@Joezzzzz no way! my sister goes to Syracuse so I go up there a lot!!

@lacollege LOL it’s true. I always want to major in communication, and Syracuse has the best program.

Guys, I honestly wouldnt think to much into the wording. I looked at last years thread and some people who got that message, go in instead of deferred and vice versa. @Joezzzzz and @lacollege Im from syracuse, if you have any questions about the town, university, or atmosphere i can answer! also @Joezzzzz the acceptance rate of BU is about 29% but it can vary on what they are accepting year to year (more bio majors, less bio majors, more Caucasians, more out of state, etc.). One thing I have learned being in college is DO NOT be afraid to ask for money. Since we are all in a binding contract, BU will not be afraid to give us a ton of money because they already know we want to go there. My projected yearly cost by my admissions counselor here at Clarkson University was about $30,000 per year, and I currently go to clarkson for $22,000. Originally there offer was 27k but i asked for more and received an extra 5k scholarship. JUST REMEMBER, if you CANNOT AFFORD there financial aid package, you can always deny admission.

@Taylorwicks Who?? I looked through the ED1 thread for last year just twenty minutes ago and every single person I found if they had the thank you message they were accepted and if they had the our records message they were denied. Maybe I missed something but…

@Taylorwicks Really? I mean I have been to Syracuse like 5 or 6 times. I mean the school is good, but the city… Is Syracuse “safe” at all?

@Joezzzzz yeah!, the newshouse has a really good program.

@lacollege You know what I just filled my CommonApp for Syracuse, I was going to apply for RD. But now I know they have ED II. If Bu denies or defers me, fk it, I am going to Syracuse!
