Teacher's rec- I have one teacher who will definitely write me a really good one, haven't decided yet for the other one.

I LOVE Brown, but Cornell seems like a more realistic goal for me..

"IF" my essay turns out to be quite impressive, is there any chance for me??

It's really hard to compare with other people because they all apply for different majors and not many Canadians apply for US (at least around me)..

PLUS I'm Korean, not even an immigrant/citizen.

ahhhhhhh help me decide!!!!!!

That is impressive. You should be fine.

First, if you are Korean, the Korean SAT II really doesn't make a very good impression. If you didn't get 800, Colleges would think something was wrong. That being said, you should take one more SAT II instead of the Korean. Also, what is the max potential GPA, is it a 4.0? Your EC's are great so if your tests scores are up there as well as the quality of your essays, I'd say you were in good standing

hot.

(10char)

Thanks halopeno2,
my school's GPA max is 4.0:)

brown doesn't 'require' SAT II scores for ACT takers(Cornell does), but I guess it's better to have them?? Well they require min 2 for SAT takers, but I guess more is better.. and I'm not even really sure if I should submit my scores...

well, thanks anyways! (I'm still freaked out)

If you plan on submitting just the ACT to Brown, I'd say 33 is perfectly fine. It is well above the average. As for Cornell, which makes you submit two SAT II's- I still recommend that you take Chemistry and another Non-Korean test. Do Math, and Bio (If you think you did well in the class). Those, in my opinion are the easiest.

What ACT score does Brown require?

Wow. Fierce. Ice hockey.... Are you missing any teeth? Anyways, looks good so far. Your ACT is decent enough.

I think you have a better than decent chance of getting into Brown.

Never apply to Cornell just because you feel like you have a better chance of getting in. You may regret that you never tried Brown!

Yeah, I agree with 123orange. Apply somewhere ED where you actually want to go. Brown and Cornell are not very similar. If you really love Brown, ED is the way to go.

Cornell mom here! If you love Brown, then you should apply ED to Brown. I think you have a very good chance of getting into Cornell RD so an ED application to Brown may do you more good.
If you are serious about Cornell- you gotta familiarize yourself with the Programs . Are you interested in the Applied Economic Management (AEM) in CALS, or are you more interested in being an Economics major in CAS?? Or is there another program like ILR which also has alot of economics/globalization courses which might suit your interests??
A lot of kids apply to Cornell and really do not understand all the programs and different colleges-- and therefore by not applying to the right program, they do themselves a disservice and Cornell admissions can usually sense the applicant who does not know much about Cornell but is just applying because they think it's the easiest route to an Ivy League School.
ACT of 33 and you play hockey too. That's impressive. If you have a good application for Cornell, I think you have a great shot at getting in RD. Good luck.
