-total GPA (9-12) : 4.2500 W 3.9722 UW

-class rank : 9 out of 600 (school is Northwood High School and was named last year one of the 21 elite public high schools in the US by Newsweek Magazine)

-AP scores : 5 STAT, 5 Enviro., 4 US history and 3 Art History

test scores:
ACT 30 (25 english, 26 math, 32 reading, 36 science, 9 essay) and 29 (26 english, 31 math, 33 reading, 26 science, 10 essay) if combined sub-scores would get 32. I took it again in Oct. and hoping for at least 31.

SAT 1350 (710 CR and 640 M) SAT 2 (690 US) took some more and didnt get good scores but took them again in Nov and I know I definitely broke 700 in Lit and Math level 1.

-Have taken multiple courses at community college (elementary algebra, health, french 2, and history of film).

-possible hooks:
*Had spinal fusion surgery in the 8th grade for severe scolisis. Rods, hooks, and screws placed along my spine along with bone grafts from my hip to help stabalize the curve. Wrote about experience in essay and what I learned from it.
*From single parent family (mother recieves no child support). My mother is a teacher and earns a "teacher's income", which means my FASFA parent contribution is like less than 1.5 grand a year.
*Half Japanese and half Irish. I was born in Japan, lived there for 5 years and then came to the States. Japanese was my first language, but I forgot it.
*I have been selling items on eBay for the last 5 years and earn enough every month to pay for gas, car insurance, $100 for tennis club fees, and food. Earn enough on eBay to also buy a 5 grand car (with NO parental contribution)

-ec:
*help/volunteer local political campaigns
*do environmental work like cleanups
*member of scoliosis association and attend meetings
*tutor in math and history every week
*also reach tennis to lil kids
*strong member of Amnesty International Club at my school

-both of my recs from teachers were very strong and so was my counselor rec. I had an additional rec sent by my surgeon also.

I'd say not a good chance. Scores low, ECs don't help.

anyone else?

Agree with Bobby, without a hook I don't see it.

defer and then reject (maybe waitlist and then reject)

ummm...id kinda have to agree with previous posters. your numbers are below par for any of the ivies. but who knows, it might be a hook to go for that whole "stay strong regardless of the adversity" kind of theme. it's impressive how you make everything for yourself
