Ed.D vs. Ph.D

Our experiences differ vastly. Intelligence comes in many different forms. Being a statistical guru doesn’t make you a genius or a well rounded professional. I was compelled to chime in after careful readings of your post. I have a PhD in Econometrics and Statistics from the University of Chicago and some of the most prolific leaders, educationalist, and professionals that I have encountered in my entire life have EdD degrees. I seen fellow PhD colleagues look down on people with EdDs which in my view, it is an unwarranted discriminatory approach, which only reflects much ignorance on their part. Those in high horses (unknowingly) don’t have the necessary tools to accurately discern a wide variety of intelligence. Miami-Dade County Public Schools is the fourth largest school district in the nation and the person in charge of all statistical matters, has an EdD, so in the final analysis, it really comes down to the individual. Without a doubt, I take a practical person over a theory person.
