I’m counting the minutes till 5 on Thursday.

i have no idea about what they look like, but i can't stop counting the minutes either, and i have sooo much work this week. i need to just not go to school this week lol.

heres what the acceptance letter reads according to bptoast. if you go through the official ED results thread from last year you can find what the deferral and/or rejection letters read as well.

Dear (First name):

I hope you are as pleased to receive this decision notification as I am to provide it. You have been admitted to the 243rd class to enter The College of Brown University. I congratulate you on your record of academic and personal accomplishments, to which can now be added the honor of being accepted as an Early Decision applicant to Brown. You will be one of 1,450 first-year students who individually and collectively display a remarkable diversity of strengths and interests. Each of you was chosen not only for what we believe you can contribute to our academic community, but also for what you will gain from the wonderful opportunities that distinguish undergraduate education at Brown.

Your official admission decision letter has been mailed to you and I ask that you read it carefully, as it contains more detailed information than is possible for us to provide here. If you are a candidate for financial aid, your financial aid award letter is included with the decision letter; you may also access that information online. Please remember that as a student admitted under an Early Decision plan, you are required to withdraw all applications to other colleges, and you may not initiate any new applications.

We know that this Early Decision admission will not only relieve you of the anxiety of applying to college, but more importantly, it will permit you to focus your efforts on learning for the rest of the year. Please remember that this offer of admission is contingent upon your maintaining a record of the same general quality as that on which we based our decision.

On behalf of the faculty and President Ruth Simmons, please accept my congratulations on your admission. Please do not hesitate to write to me if you have any questions that remain after you receive your official decision letter.

Sincerely,

James S. Miller
Dean of Admission
bptoast is offline

thanks mjl!

haha love how it says "bptoast is offline" at the end of it

and jenn---same...but just think...at least we don't have to wait till wednesday the 19th...which is when cornell ED applicants get their decisions online

oh i supposed it isn't the official acceptance letter but this is what you should see on the computer IF you get accepted that is. ;)

that's true tonyspizza! we're really lucky we get to find out before the 15th! it's a shame for those cornell kids... i can't believe the cornell computer system crashed and all... thumbs up to brown for keeping it together!

i really hope you both get accepted...and me too of course :P

let's just hope the brown computer system doesn't crash from us refreshing the application status site 219038120938210381290983120 times on thursday

hahahaha yeah... that would be terrible! i already decided that i'm logging in as soon as i get home from school, and every 25-30 min i'll click on one of the links so it doesn't log me out for being inactive for 30 min. then i can get my decision right at 5:00 instead of having to wait for half an hour if i logged in right before 5:00. i am so overly-obsessed for coming up with that plan lol.

and i hope you guys get accepted too!

Oh god, no financial information until the letter arrives in the mail?

:-/

ooh but look Kristina... "If you are a candidate for financial aid, your financial aid award letter is included with the decision letter; you may also access that information online."

you can get it online too!

Funny you guys mention system crashes... this morning at 7:00 AM or so the Brown Banner system was inaccessible for about some period of time.

Oh, thanks jenn! But then what is the "more detailed information than is possible for us to provide" that they mention in the email?

"Your official admission decision letter has been mailed to you and I ask that you read it carefully, as it contains more detailed information than is possible for us to provide here. "

I don't think that's specifically targeting financial aid. I think they're saying that you'll get packets of information in the mail and all. There might bemore specific FA info in there, but it seems as though you can see how much you'll have to pay online.

OK. Great!

haha posting on CC while im in class listening to my teacher is very fun!

Do you have an iPhone?

Dartmouth EDer got word this afternoon via e-mail that decisions would be posted Wednesday 12/12 at 3:30 pm. Cute -- 2012 and 12/12!!

i know im so jealous they find out earlier than us =[

lol, who has heard the 2012 apocalypse theory? anybody?

"Please remember that this offer of admission is contingent upon your maintaining a record of the same general quality as that on which we based our decision."

It says that it's "contingent"...
Is that possible that the decision can be cancel by the admission office because of bad scores in the rest of the school year? or due to other factors? 'cause we still have to send a mid-year report in Feb...
