EE major switching to ECET?

I am currently a sophomore In electrical engineering. So I am semester behind right now and not doing so well in calc 2 and might become 1 more semester behind cause of it. My advisor told me to switch to ECET (which is more hands on than theory) but it feels like its a cheap version of the EE degree and won't land me any jobs. What do you guys think about this situation? Should I switch or try to go through EE even if it takes 5 years instead of the regular 4?

I have no idea what ECET is, since each school has their own acronyms and different curriculum for various majors. However, if you’re just one quarter or year behind, I wouldn’t switch majors just because of that. It’s another opportunity to get a summer internship and to figure out what you want or don’t want to do. You have the rest of your life to work, and that extra year of salary compared to the 40+ years you’ll be working will be a drop in the bucket.
