Would it be possible to major in Electrical Engineering while being pre-med? Would med schools look down on this? What if you receive a high GPA in EE, 3.5+, from a top Engineering School, while doing med related ECs?

I'm not an EE. One of my cousins is an EE premed, but she and I aren't that close so I'm really not familiar with the process. With that said, here are some general principles:

1.) Your major very rarely matters much. There's a discussion on majors here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=149283

2.) A GPA of 3.5 will probably not be considered "high" for a premed of any kind. It won't eliminate you from consideration for medical school in general, but it will be a serious liability if you intend on applying to the more selective medical schools. A 3.5 would probably be a pretty reasonable GPA - somewhat but not horrifically below the median - at your state schools, depending on what your home state is.

he's right. ur major doesn't count that much. it will make u stand out from the rest of the aplicants, but only if u have a really high GPA (3.7+) and a good MCAT score. Plus u have to make sure u take all the pre-reqs for med school, plus some advanced bio courses too. i know engineering is a hard major, and depending on what school u go to, ur schedule is pretty tight. so think about if u will have the time to take the extra courses.
