EE "Unlikely - What to do?

Her second semester grades were straight As (I think first semester she had 1 B). Also she received the award for the best student in the Social Sciences at her high school, received another competitive high school award named in honor of a deceased student; received a community award, etc. We (parents and daughter) prepared a packet with all her second semester achievements/awards and sent it to Wellesley with a cover letter letting them know she was still very interested. It’s hard to know exactly what made them select her, but we made sure they knew there was still strong interest and if admitted she would attend if financially feasible.

So, if you are waitlisted and have anything else you can send, I suggest it can’t hurt to let them know your continuing interest. I know other students were also admitted off the waitlist last year but I don’t know the numbers.

Oh wow your D did great second semester…thanks for the suggestions! But I think I am too late in sending more information after being deferred…but the truth is I really had no additional information about myself… Well thanks for the reply! I’ll have to see soon what happens… I will probably send a letter of serious interest because I really do want to go to Wellesley. Thanks!

Caolila,

You astound me with your arrogance and pomposity. I just stumbled upon this thread and it has literally made me sick. I hate to break it to you, but obviously the reason you weren’t admitted is the same exact reason you have accumulated over 40 posts on a thread devoted entirely to yourself: you are obnoxious and self righteous and that clearly came through in your application. I’d like to point out that everyone who got into Wellesley is at LEAST as qualified and they don’t carry around an ego the size of the moon. Perhaps if you didn’t think you were the queen of the world, and got off your high horse you could have had a chance to go to Wellesley instead of just spending your life complaining on a college forum.

That may have been a bit harsh, but someone needed to tell you that.

over 40 posts??? How did you come to this number? Just to be sure, I counted. There were 24 before, now 25.

“you are obnoxious and self righteous and that clearly came through in your application” …CollageConfidant are you in the admissions office of Wellesley? Did you see my application? You imply that you did… I am just shocked by what you have written here.

In my application I talked about how much I loved fencing, and how that sport is so inclusive. Handicapped people can still fence (actually there is a fencer at a top 12 university I know who lacks one hand, and she is AMAZING). There is a USFA wheelchair event, too, for people who cannot walk.

My other essay talked about the Great Race at Culver…how I got up at 5.30 am to practice wherries, and how hard we practiced for the Great Race. Then, when the day of the race came, how I got my oar stuck under a rock at the beginning because we started from shore (not the dock as usual). I desperately tried to keep our team from losing the first leg of the relay, and managed to catch up a little. In the end we ultimately lost the Great Race, but we had a good time. I felt I had done my best.

I just cannot imagine that either of these essays were interpreted in the way you suggest.

This wasn’t my final year, nor my deck, but the pics are cool and convey the spirit of a Culver summer, along with the Great Race. [Deck One 2009](http://deckone2009.■■■■■■■■■■■■■/)

Kind of rude to use single digits posts on CC lambasting others like caolila.

Culver rocks. I have a lot of friends who enjoyed their leadership summers there. Caolila you are a great gal. Thanks for sharing.
