EECS at UCB vs compE at Georgia tech with pesidential scholarship

While a Regent’s at Cal is a wonderful honor and comes with a few perqs, it doesn’t come with much money, unless you received need-based aid. (California educators are not big on rewarding merit with merit aid.)

A Presidential at GT makes it free.

UCB’s EECS program maybe the best in the world, but it doesn’t beat GT at zero cost.

Agree with bluebayou. The PS is a Stamps foundation scholarship. Congrats!!! It opens doors too. Well done!

One also needs to factor in whether the academic requirements to keep the respective scholarships are such that losing them may be a real possibility.

If there is a high GPA requirement(For engineering, 3.0+) to keep the scholarships, especially at GT with its high workload and rigor even among fellow elite engineering schools, it’s something which needs to be seriously considered.
