Paying for College

<p>So I did FAFSA and my EFC is 222. What does this mean? Will I be expected to only pay 222 a year? Obviously colleges will expect me to pay more than that.</p>

<p>I'm applying to (Harvard, Dartmouth, Cornell, Bowdoin, Amherst, Middlebury). If I somehow get into one of those, which are no loan, full-grant, full-meet schools, would I be expected to contribute almost nothing?</p>

<p>Also I'm applying to (NYU, Tufts, Boston University, Boston College, Brandeis University, University of Massachusetts Amherst). What would you guys predict to be the actual costs I would have expected to pay for those schools (if I get in of course). Tufts has that policy where if you're income is under $40,000 (as mine is) you are not expected to pay for board or tuition.</p>

<p>With an EFC of $222 you may only have to contribute that much for no-loan full need schools. However they may make you contribute from expected earnings for summer jobs as well. For the other schools I think you won’t get much from NYU so there will be a big gap between your COA and your EFC. I’m not sure about the rest. If you’re OOS for UMass don’t expect much there either.</p>
