Effect of summer courses in admissions process

I just saw this thread over in the med-school forum where it was revealed that summer school grades are often taken with a grain of salt by admission committees. Part of the reasoning for this was because of the curve often applied in the grading process of the hard sciences and the assumption that summer school in general draws lower calibur students. So my question is, does this hold true for law school as well, especially given that there is generally not a curve in my major? Also keep in mind that the classes would be taken at my regular institution.
