<p>I can’t imagine a UC holding a low AP score in AP Studio Art against the student even if the score was sent. I suppose I don’t really have much to base this on - it just doesn’t make sense. I’d expect that the class would help regardless of the AP score due to the well-rounded factor.</p>
<p>btw - my D ended up in a class on ‘1’ in AP Studio Art - basically she appealed to the teacher to take it and was the only student to do so that year. She really enjoyed the class, the teacher was excellent, she made some really nice pieces of creative artwork, and ended up doing very well on the AP test (4 or 5 - can’t remember which) even though the scoring was typically low as you stated. </p>
<p>I think if your D’s interested in it she should go for it. She should show to the teacher genuine interest in the class and work on her projects enthusiastically. That alone would probably separate her from other members of the class who might think it’s just an easy AP.</p>
