I'm in my freshman year of high school, and second semester's about to start. When I signed up for my classes, they didn't put me in the sport I wanted to participate in, which was in second semester. When I asked my counselor, she told me it was because only about 10 people make it in. Today I asked again, and she said I would have to TA in a class if I wanted to change my schedule in the case that I do make it in. However, if I TA, that would mean that I wouldn't be able to finish my visual and performing arts class. Sorry this is really complicated so far >.< Anyway, I take animation A right now, and that class only has one period: 6th period. If I play a sport, I won't have a 6th period. Also, I can't take another vapa class, such as media B, if I have not yet taken media A. So, I would have 3 semesters of vapa. Will giving up one semester to TA have consequences later on? I want to play in the sport because I heard that it's good for college (and I do love playing it). But what would be better? Being a TA and be in a sports team or finishing my visual and performing arts class and take PE? Oh, and I can take VAPA in the summer too...so...that's another factor.

Are all sports classes at your school?

I want to join the school team, so yes.

Go down the sports path. I know it can cause problems later on, but honestly for its a huge part of high school. Not only individually but also through all the People you meet. Try it freshman year, while your not to stressed!
