Elementary Education Male Teacher

I’m interested in teaching elementary education but I’m a male. How more or less difficult will it be for me to find a job?

  1. Is there any data on this because I have read some brief articles talking about the male elementary school teacher stigma but I’m not really sure if it exists.

  2. In addition could someone explain more about the requirements to become certified in the state of North Carolina?
It appears all I need are the Praxis Core exam and a k-6 elementary education degree. Is that correct?

  3. Last question, how often do I have to retake the Praxis exam? This I assume is the same for all teachers, Chemistry, Physics, etc…
I believe I found an article that says you have to retake the Praxis every 10 years but can’t really find an accurate source anymore.

In addition it appears that Elementary Education might not really be in demand, but according to this it has the 2nd lowest unemployment only overtaken by nursing https://georgetown.app.box.com/s/9t0p5tm0qhejyy8t8hub Is this possibly biased because lots of Elementary Education teachers are teaching at like pre k centers or day care centers. That is my only probably grossly inaccurate guess.
