They use them as assistants in the Elon 101 class, which is required of all freshman but taught by the students’ advisor (a professor). Which is nice, because the TA does little tours and stuff and is a student resource for questions they might not want to ask the professor (like maybe social life stuff). My son says that TAs are only used in Elon 101 and science labs.
Is anyone going to the Admitted Students event on March 6 “Exploring Academics”?? My son visited in July but would like to go back to get a sense of campus with students on site. I feel with a May 1 decision deadline looming that we are running out of time and that this weekend might be a nice option.
Yes, we are driving down with our son the night before and going to the morning session
We have never seen the campus so that is a must before he makes any decision.
My daughter and I did an admitted student campus visit about 10 days ago. We had visited pre-COVID and then again in June when campus was empty. Was so nice to see students on campus again! Since our June visit felt so different, I’m glad she got the same “vibe” this time as she did in Fall 2019. And I was super impressed with their COVID protocols.
We just finished a tour and accepted students talk. We were very happy the campus was open and we even got inside a number of buildings. The only school on our list that we got a full tour like that.
Yes-- I am about to buy airline tickets to come down on Friday as well- we are registered for the afternoon session (we live in Ohio so too far to drive for 2 days). We’re staying on campus at the Inn at Elon-- my husband and son stayed there this summer and it was fantastic.
Wow! I feel so bad for my son who hasn’t seen the school. He is waiting for other RD schools before we travel. I hate to miss accepted student days! Ugh
Us too! Every other school my D applied to is not allowing on campus visits. Makes it so difficult to compare apples-to-apples. We went down to Elon this past Friday and she loved it! Just waiting to hear from Wesleyan and then she’ll decide, but I was so impressed with Elon. It moved up to her current #1. If she gets into the communications fellowship, I think it will probably be a done deal
My DD interviews for fellows this wknd and a lot weighs on that for us as well.
was anyone else on here accepted to elon sports vision?
They are doing Admitted Student tours through April 30, so he should still have a chance after RD comes out. Here’s their calendar of events, most are virtual but some are on campus events Elon University / Undergraduate Admissions / Where You bELONg: Minneapolis, MN
ETA: there is another on campus Exploring Academics on April 24
Thank you!
Anyone having trouble getting into the honors fellow meet and greet? My DD link isn’t working.
Does anyone know when the Fellows decisions will be announced?
The Fellows FAQ says March 10
Does anyone know about how many finalists they pick for the Communications Fellows?
They will probably choose between 20-30 finalists and maybe 5-10 waitlists.
Last year’s class had 35 Communications Fellows, the year before that (class of 2023) there were 37.
What do you mean by finalists? Don’t they just decide who gets it?
Technically they refer to those who were selected for interviews as the “finalists”. I heard that about 150 were finalists for the Business Fellows this year
