Elon Essays

Hey, so on the best advice think fast question, I feel like my essay is really short and I've been putting off turning the application because of how short it is. The essay is only 86 words out of the 250. Is this too short? How long are your essays? Thanks

They aren’t supposed to be that long, only a sentence or two. Don’t stress about the word count, as long as you answered the question completely you’re fine. I got in with one of my answers being less than 100 characters.

i thinks its Character count not words - but then he did it back in september? i think

My d was accepted and her essays were approximately 200 words each, definitely not just a sentence or two. But I do agree it is more about substance than quantity. I specifically remember an admissions rep at Wake Forest addressing a similar question about their application, which consists of eight short (up to approximately 100-200 words, depending on the prompt) questions. He said they are not looking so much for your point of view as they are for whether you can stand behind your answer. Sometimes that can be done in a few sentences.
