Elon Visit: Advice!

I'm going to visit Elon the last week in February and I have absolutely no idea what to expect weather-wise. I live in the northern Caribbean (the Cayman Islands) and the coldest it ever gets here is 70 F - and that's maybe one week out of the year. I might be stopping over in Miami first to get some warmer clothes on my way to NC. (My mom is convinced we are all going to freeze to death or something. :P) What should I look for? Does anyone live in the area that might be able to tell me more specific information about the weather (is there ice, etc.) that could help me? I know it's a boring topic, but I'd really appreciate anything. Thanks!

Well, we live very close to Elon and today was an especially cold day: 19 degrees in the morning and warmed up to about 34 degrees. However, just check the weather on the internet a few days before you leave because the weather can vary significantly. This weekend the weather is expected to be in the 60s! Good luck.

Check the weather a few days in advance, but just to give you an idea, the average high that time of year is 55. The average low is 31.

Definitely bring a warm coat and some gloves.

Oh, wow. Thanks everyone! I'll definitely take your advice. :)

please post a visit report when you get back.....have fun!

I will! Thanks! I'm doing my Fellows interview that weekend as well. (I couldn't come the next week.) So keep your fingers crossed for me please! :)
