It’s possible that when you do revisits of schools that your child got into, some other school might move into the #1 position.

LOL! You are right. Thanks for your input. I keep telling myself that the right fit will make itself known.

Thx again to everyone~ I finally sent the email out.

Also, I completely agree with neatoburrito about the purgatory~ I feel like the wait is too long and too short at the same time.

for one WL school, we had MS headmaster make a call/send an email–I forget which, to tell school that S was hoping to get in, great kid/student still doing well, etc. Can’t hurt if MS is willing to do so.

My D, who is at school, just forwarded me an e-mail that she rec’d from one school on her list. Basically just a “hello” and forwarding a link to their student newspaper so she could keep abreast of the “goings on”. She, of course, is asking what this means. I am baffled that the schools would send out any communication during this sensitive time - I think it is a misguided approach and could end up in some bruised feelings next week.

@madaket is this loomis? i just go the same email

Received same email. It seems awfully “suggestive”–“we’re looking forward to making a decision on you!” So does this go to all applicants? Is it a subtle “tell”? I have no idea, and can’t figure out the timing at all.

Loomis has been sending these out all along - to all applicants. They didn’t just start today. There’s no significance - just unfortunate timing.

If you read the article online, the link is in the email. It says you may be accepted or declined and to remember they had over 1600 applicants that were Mostly qualified

Dont’ read too much into it even though I agree the timing makes it awkward. My D got an email from an athletic coach about 10 days before M10 telling her she’d be in our town and D should come by and say hi–we thought that was a very good sign for that particular school (after all, c’mon on!)–but it turned out she didn’t get accepted there. We still scratch our head about that one.

erlanger, that is just too much. These schools need to remember that they are dealing with 13 and 14 year old children. They need to get their acts together and have more coordination between admissions and coaches. I think even the most cynical among us would have interpreted that as an early “thumbs up”.

I think coaches is a weird subject because for me it seemed as if all the coaches wanted me and they keep emailing me asking how school is and telling me to call them but I don’t know if admissions feels the same about me /:
