i agree with gimmeaclu

lol yeah i got this email last night and i don't think it means anything.
cus i have a 3.0 uc gpa and a 1930 SAT so i'm pretty sure they wouldn't accept me. but i do agree that the "worth the wait" part gives too much false hope if you're gonna be rejected in the end anyway. i guess we'll just have to wait and see~

but our name was mentioned specifically at the beginning of the letter, so i think it is unlikely a generic email....

o well i dunno ..just a thought

Hey folks,

Now, I'm not anxiously waiting for an admissions offer like all of you (I'm already a student here), but I have to say that treating the "we're worth the wait" letter as a likely letter is pretty funny. Yes, Cal should've done a better job wording that, but the EXACT same letter is on the Berkeley Admissions page for EVERYONE to see. Likely letters are for top applicants. This is a generic email.

Best of luck!

Even if our names are included in the letter, so what? Acceptance letters also are addressed to us, but the letter itself is just a generic letter sent to everyone.

So I emailed UCB admissions, again, to ask them why multiple forms were sent out, in order to ease your non-believing minds. Here was their reply. They added to the previous email sent to me I guess....

...this email is sent to all applicants to inform them of the decision release date. It is NOT an offer of admission, a so-called "likely letter", or anything along those lines. All applicants receive one, *regardless of whether or not we have extended to them an offer of admission,*and it is also posted on our admissions site. Please do not take it for anything more than a pleasant reminder. Admitted students, as well as denied students, all receive the email. We sent two different versions due to continued concerns about whether it was a "likely letter." Therefore, we re-sent the edited email to those who had already received it, so that it would not be misinterpreted. Good luck, and thank you for your continued interest in UC Berkeley.

UCSC's email was personalized with our names on it. It was also a reminder to check our admission status on March 15th. It was a general email.....just like this one.

Well, that doesn't make any sense in regards to applicants who only received email #3, which specifically asks students not to reply to any other UC until they've heard from Berkeley.

Email #2 is far more generic without the 'but before you give them your reply, please wait to hear from UC Berkeley,' and far less likely to raise false hopes, IMO.

A generic reminder email of when decisions will be posted would have sufficed. UCB should have just kept it simple. The suspense is kind of fun, though. :)

they resent the revised version to everyone?? i got email 3 but that was all.

^ yeah same here, i've only received email 3

I didn't receive an e-mail.

LOL - DaVinci code # 4 is not after code # 3 - it's the movie shot after DaVinci code #3 with Steven Speilberg as director!

P.S. I think UCB has better things to do to wrap up before Thurs, than to send more versions of highly analyzed codes...

Stop being freaking paranoid lol.
Everyone gets it. I got two. [DOUBLE CHANCE MAYBE?, jk]
all we can do is wait.

I haven't received any version of the email.

This is rediculous, 20 pages.

I only got #3 too.

freaking ridiculous
i got 1 and 3 :O

xFumiko, which one did u get first?

learnmestuff, strange that you just emailed them and got a reply... I emailed them a couple days ago and haven't heard anything. Anyway, I've only received one letter... (#3.. strange then that the email would say they resent them?)

hi peeps: this is getting quite interesting...if its any help at cracking this code if it does in fact exist i got email 3 (OUA-#00000003-APPSFRWAIT) only 3/22 so far

Hahhaa, I got 1 first, then a few days later 3.
