Email from UCB admissions about Mar 27 decions?

520 msgs, over 23,000 views?

sorry 30,000 views

Yea, pretty soon, this thread will overtake the Sticky thread: "Ask a Cal Student Anything" in posts.

myBerkeley app says:

The system is undergoing some maintenance. Please try again after 1 p.m. Freshman admissions decisions will be released on Thursday 3/27.

Thanks for your patience.

They could be preparing for the decisions, which are going to be released on Thursday.

^ exactly what I thought ;)

i have to admit, i just spent the last 30 minutes reading this entire thread...and it was probably the most entertaining one I've ever seen on CC hahaha

berkeley is such a longshot for me (got rejected from ucla), but it's my first choice... and as they say... you have to believe, eh? if i got in, i'd cry...

good luck everyone!

ahoy, nervous people. The letters are probably in different versions because there are different admission officers in charge of sending them out (yes, code included) Sending out thousands of emails is simply too much for one person alone.

wow i didn't know some people actually thought the email was some indication of getting in or not lol. i just thought everyone got it....i got it twice, does that mean anything? probably not.........ucla already doesnt want me...

wow, feeshseagullmine.
i actually have to agree with that remark...he could be right guys.

Nah. I don't think so. If UCLA can manage to send the same likely engineering letters out to everyone then I don't think UCB has a problem with doing that either.

does anyone know how many people applied this year anyway?

^^ 48,418.

o wow
thats frightening. well good luck to us all then

Well, I finally got a reply, and I've been told that "everyone got it."
That should settle things down. G'luck all.

You're probably right. I had logistical admission issues at the beginning of this year and I could only talk to my admission officer to clear things up. As for LA... I guess they could do mass-emailing instead of being officer-specific.

^^i hate to debunk that theory, but aren't admission counselors dedicated to a region, or regions. if not, then certainly there is one admission counselor that is dedicated to a specific school or city, unless it needs to be split due to the amount of applications coming from a designated area.
i know that my hs has the same admission counselor that in is charge of all students that apply from my school.

feel free to correct me if i am wrong.

and sending out thousands of emails from one person is not difficult. It takes one person (or a small group) to write it and definitely only one to press send to all the applicants. Computers can send mass emails.

sorry if this has already been answered before, but does anyone know what time the Berkeley decisions will be up?

5 pm ish 10chars
