I forgot to mention, for a small school, AU also has a top notch Arts program, a decent business school and a reasonable if not top notch Liberal arts offering

I've been there before, live in the state (the AZ one). Nice cool/fresh weather, but it's basically a retirement town... well that's only in the immediate area, you drive for a while and you'd be out of the little retirement vicinity. Nice, new, well equipped facilities, been in them.... other than Aerospace, offer a few different computer majors, civil engineering, busines, meteorology, many technical majors, and occupational safety majors, global security and air traffic safety...

And also, I've heard people who went here can get government jobs.

Good in engineering!! I got that impression from both my counselors, talking with other prospective engineers like me, and from looking around the classrooms.... Good for internships!! I know of several good places that take loads of both ASU and embry riddle students... heard about this from people who actually got internships.

Social scene: intellectual, small nicely close knit group of smart.... SORT OF geekyish (in a good way!!), interested in science men (but there is still enuf girls around there!! I dunno if you're a guy or girl, or if that matters to you) is the stereotype I give it. The people there looked mature and ready to have a technical conversation about new science topics, and they acted easy to talk to and relax around from the way they were going about their business (I walked around for a long time, looked in library...). I dunno about you, but that = perfect to me...... interesting geeky men.... drools

easy to get in, you'd get in, it's your safety school.

Thanks for the info but are you talking about the AZ location? I think you are... I was looking at the FL location but I would assume that the type of person it attracts is fairly simliar. Isn't the deadline sometime in March? Maybe I'll wait to see where I get in before I apply...

Thanks!!

No problem : ). Yes the AZ location...not sure about the deadline, but you can apply online, and I don't quite remember but I think it went pretty fast for me.

Look into Rose-Hulman.

I have looked into(and visited) Rose-Hulman many times and it just isn't for me.

... this thread is quite old, but I have applied to Embry-Riddle and am waiting on an acceptance.

Thanks

anovice,
My son is a Junior and very interested in Rose-Hulman. We were planning to visit during Spring break. Please tell us what you liked and didn't like there. Obviously there were positives since you visited there more than once.

I got accepted into both (Embry-Riddle and Rose Hulman). My choice now leans more toward Riddle, mostly because of the fact that they offer Aerospace Engineering (and it excels at it), while RHIT does not. Beside, it is always my dream to attend a university in a place that's relatively hot for the entire year. But I've heard nothing but bad stuffs about Riddle. I don't know. It's not like I don't have any other choices (schools like Ohio State Colombus and Rensselaer have also accepted me), but it's Florida's weather I'm craving the most. Ah well, anybody has any advice?

I have a friend going to Embry Riddle... she doesn't seem to think it's too bad. It's a fairly well known and well respected school. Have you visited?

I hear bad things about nearly every school... someone is going to complain and with the internet it is VERY easy to complain and be heard. If you like it, go! Don't worry about what others think and you can always transfer if you decide it's not for you.

... this thread is REALLY old. LOL... I've accepted at UDel so no small engineering school for me!
