I'm an international student and I've just submitted my application, and proceeded to submit my financial aid part, but when I entered my account at UChicago website, it said that "No application has been filed for this account"!! No one answers at the admissions, and I'm very stressed. Does anyone know what can I do???

Thanks a lot!

The financial aid deadline is today, btw

I bet it’s only saying that because they haven’t downloaded your application yet. I had a similar problem with Harvard (they said on their website that they still hadn’t received my letters of recommendation two weeks after I submitted the Common App, and I know both my teachers submitted theirs on time). I wouldn’t worry. You can always call them when they re-open after winter break. :)

thanks for your response!
I’m quite worried because on the website it says that the financial aid application is due until today, and I’m not sure if they’ll be understanding…

There is a delay between the uchicago account and your actual submissions. Due to the large volume of applications, it will take a while for everything to be sorted out and delegated to your account. Relax and goodluck!

I’m an international student. We have to submit the ISFAA

Hey tahirdet! Don’t worry! I am an international student too and I met a similar problem. I did not know that the UChicago ID took ~1 day to arrive so I submitted my app only yesterday. Later I emailed the admission officer to ask if I can still apply for FA after the Jan 2 deadline. And this is the reply I got:

Dear XXX,

Thank you for your interest in the University of Chicago. It is completely fine for you to upload your financial aid materials after you receive your portal ID. Your application will still be considered.

Best,

So I guess the deadline is not that strict after all. Relax and good luck!

For students within the US, do they want both the CSS Profile and the FAFSA?

^are you asking about non-citizens/permanent residents living in the US? If so you only fill out the ISFAA. If you’re a US citizen or permanent resident you need to fill out both the CSS profile and the FAFSA to be eligible for federal and institutional aid.
