Thanks for posting this - a fascinating, and moving, piece.

An absolutely amazing story. I hope to see her around campus next year. She is an amazing and remarkable young woman.

wow! what an amazing story.

So where are the next 2 parts? Couldn't find them online.

The first part was published today; the others will be published subsequently, and I'll link them when they're oot.

It's a beautiful story, and also an excellent example of what kind of challenges students need to have conquered to stand out in the applicant pool. "I am the child of immigrants and didn't know English when I moved to the US in middle school" and "I got depressed when my grandparent died sophomore year" aren't the kind of challenges that are tip factors.

Ah, I was confused since the article is dated June 17 online, and today is June 19. I guess they made a typo about the date.

Well, I don't know. Overcoming a language barrier coiuld still be a tip factor under the right circumstances, but it is hard to imagine anyone with a higher barrier to overcome than this girl.

Yes, it Harvard, but the challenges facing her would be equally daunting wherever she was.

Thanks for that wonderful link.
