Emory or UF Honors?!?!?!..Emergency Deadline Soon

I have to decide between Emory and UF Honors.

I am going to major in Business.

Bottom Line I prefer Emory but I get no financial aid so is it worth the $50,000 a year(UF is FREE)????

Will I make up the cost after getting a job with A BBA from Emory after the going through the Business School???

Or is it not worth it and I will lose more in the long run (or will I make more) and should i just go (settle) for UF?

If you're going to pay $50000 a year for an education, it damn sure better not be undergrad, unless you're filthy rich.

Under no condition should a student ever be over 40k in debt for Undergraduate studies. Unless your very wealthy I would chose UF.

Definitely go to UF. You'll notice your life will be much happier, you will get better grades, your initial salary won't be much different, and you won't have to deal with 200K of debt.

I had a sister go to Emory and she was actually in the same predicament you were in. I know UF is tempting because it is free but Emory has a reputation which is truely hard to beat. She graduated last spring and got a job offer right out of the school. It was pretty cool. Plus, its really hard to beat the atlanta location and the endless oppertunities for jobs and internships.

There is no chance in hell that any school's undergraduate education is worth $200,000 more than another school's.

especially not when UF is as solid as it is.

An education at one of the military academies is definitely worth $200,000. What's better is that they give you an allowance just to go.

But attending means that you walk four years in hell.

If Emory is your first choice like you say it is and money isn't an obstacle...go to Emory. You wouldn't want to be at UF wishing you were at Emory or feeling like you'd be getting a better education there. Emory is a great school and Atlanta is a friendly big city....
If money is an issue it's a no brainer....no one wants to be saddled with debt for undergraduate. Go to UF...do an amazing job there and pick a prestigious graduate school.

the financial aid doesnt accurately reflect the need...because of old tax returns which arent applicable to our current situation...so i would be more or less personally responsible for the debt of 100,000 ish because i could do both in 3 years

I like those overachievers on the college search forum asking whether to go to Harvard, or to UC Berkeley. UF is a perfectly good college and it will land you a job if you stay in Florida.

UF Alumni seem to do very well outside of Florida in the careers.

Check out the list:

If you wish to stay in Florida after, definitely go to UF for its huge alumni base and the great connections you'll make.

Unless it were HYPS, I would definitely still go to Florida.

How about UChicago for $30k/yr more than UF?

idk thats the situation im in

Emory is pretty good with fin. aid, so if your current tax returns are good next years will reflect any changes and you'll get good aid. Even though UF is solid and I love the school, it simply doesnt hold the power emory has around the country.

Decided to bite the whole 9 yards of bullets and it's going to be Chicago. Good luck to everyone with their decisions.

What was the deciding factor? Gook luck at UChicago.

Emory has a much better business school, period. UF is not bad, but has not so great recruiting. Depending on what you want to do this may not be a big deal, but if you want to do i banking or something else really competitive you better go to emory.

If you want finance, then check out UF's 4 (yes four) year BS/MSF degree. The MSF program places into investment banking on a reglar basis.

For cheap tuition, you can have a MSFinance from UF, open a lot of doors and if you want to get your MBA later, still be eligible.
