Emory Professors...comments from previous students?

Is there somewhere other than ratemyprofessor.com where I can see previous Emory student's comments on these professors:

Ronald Calabrese - Foundations of Modern Biology I
Frank McDonald - Organic Chemistry I
Dwight Andrews - Jazz Its Evolution & Essence
Niall Slater - Elementary Latin I
Tai Chi Chuan - Tingsen Xu

If you have any input on these professors that would be great too.
I Would appreciate it.
Thanks.

There is a conference on learnlink called Class Comments that has what you are looking for. It is under College Advising or Emory Announcements

I signed into OPUS and clicked on the lower right side on learnlink…and searched for the conference called class comments and this came up:

Sorry, a r

It’s on learnlink/firstclass client, not opus.

Do I have to download anything? I cannot locate it…I am on learnlink.

Go to college advising and you should see the conference. It could be possible that your learnlink desktop is incomplete as of now since you are an incoming freshmen. However, do you have the actually client downloaded on your computer, or are you using the internet version.

Here goes a link on the UTS website.

[Software Resources at Emory](http://it.emory.edu/showdoc.cfm?docid=6030)

Go to software express and put in the same info. you put into opus. and download the stuff you want. Get the learnlink client if you don’t have it.

Okay…I downloaded Learnlink but I still do not have a college advising folder to click on this conference. Do you think this has anything to do with me being a transfer student and me not being in the system?

Yes, I believe that’s the case. You should get it soon I’d imagine.

In the mean time while I wait. Does anyone have any input or comments about these professors ?

I only have heard about Calabrese and McDonald. Calabrese is tough (but so are all bio 141 teachers other than Escobar) and is only an Okay lecturer compared to Spell and Eisen in bio 141(Calabrese’s forte is neuroscience). Either way he’s good enough. If his average is really low, he’ll curve up some/drop some questions. Generally, people say that McDonald is okay, but last year’s section kept complaining that he goes too fast and will not stop to explain concept. Perhaps that was a year of whiners, who knows. However, his tests are among the easier profs. Appears to be nearly straight from the book if you like that.

Thanks for the input. I just wanted to get a sense of what to expect. Thanks.
