<p>i'm assuming that that is whether we advanced to semifinalist status, right? That's when they're mailed out?</p>
<p>yeah, i believe so. i called one of the reps awhile back and he said that we would find out on the 1st. maybe theyre being mailed out on the 1st, i dont know, but that is semifinalist status. if you dont make semifinalist, you will find out your admissions decision along with the regular applicant pool in april or whenever</p>
<p>if yer a semifinalist, i heard youve pretty much been accepted to emory already...whoa i thought it was in february, at least i get to find something out along with all my ED friends...</p>
<p>Gee...I can't see how in the world they would determine that you're a semifinalist for Emory Scholar unless you had met the bar for admission...don't ya think? Seems like a 'given' to me.</p>

<p>Yep. That makes sense. But making semifinalist and there still being doubt about admission, does not. In reading post by Jvhowube, the words "if yer a semifinalist, i heard youve pretty much been accepted to emory already" was what puzzled me. I didn't see anything "pretty much" about it. If you're a semifinalist, you're in.</p>

<p>no, you will not find out if you get into emory on january 1st. you will find out if you get emory scholars semi-finalist status, along with admission to the college at the end of january (most likely the 31st) or the beginning of february (most likely the first). if you do get semifinalist, you are into the college. if you dont get semifinalist, then you will be considered along with the rest of the regular decision pool.</p>

<p>where are you getting the jan 31/Feb 1 date, all I found online was "late january" are you just guessing, or do you know something that I don't.</p>

<p>I don't think anyone's recieved any news, mbe says we wont until the 31, and the Emory website says "late Jan" I know I havn't heard anything yet, and if someone had I'm sure a thread would have been made.</p>
<p>they must have changed the system i guess cuz the past two years, they didn't make the announcements until late FEBRUARY. whoever said that they made the decisions on january 1st, call your rep or whoever told you, cuz i doubt they've decided yet</p>
