I was wondering how ga tech compares to emory as far as biology/chemistry/premed majors. Also if you know of georgia state university, would you choose state over tech if you were premed.

I was wondering how ga tech compares to emory as far as biology/chemistry/premed majors. Also if you know of georgia state university, would you choose state over tech if you were premed.

Emory is better for those majors. Georgia State is a totally different class of school. Emory and Georgia Tech are two of the best schools in the country, each demanding tremendous workloads and possessing highly intelligent students. Georgia State is mostly a commuter school with a lot of part-time, non-traditional students that is what you make of it. If you attend Georgia Tech or Emory be prepared to work! And be prepared to compete with some of the nation's best and most ambitious students.

I've heard (and someone feel free to correct me) that the grade deflation at Emory isn't as bad as it is at Tech, so it's definitely better for premed majors. Plus, the biological sciences is practically what makes the school so well-known, so they have to be doing something right!

So is tech really as hard as people make it out to be?

Tech is hard depending on the level of effort you are willing to put in. If you have had a rigorous high school curriculum, you can get a good gpa. My brother is maintaining a 3.78 in Computer Science (first year student).

How hard do you think Ga Tech is for a biomed/ biomed engineer major

i have heard tech is really hard in eng majors and i bet bme is one of the hardest

Whatever....GaTech ROCKS mannnn.
