I’m thinking about applying ED2 to one of these schools. I just got deferred from Wash U in St.Louis. Which school do you think is more similar to Wash U? Also, I’m worrying, because I don’t believe I have a great chance at Vandy (32 ACT, 4.4/4.8 GPA) I have great EC such as being the president of multiple clubs, being EMT Certified. I’m nervous about Emory, because I am scared it is too jappy for me. What do you think? Is Emory too jappy? I’m worried that I won’t fit in there, I am jewish but not really the jappy stereotype. I mean I want to join a sorority, but not deal with mean fake girls. What do you think the better option is for a pre-med student? I also want to be able to go out with my friends when I want to and not feel pressured to go out when I need to stay in and study.
Emory is next to the CDC, so it might have more internship or research opportunities in the field of medicine.
There’s probably mean fake girls wherever you go, so I wouldn’t worry too much about that.
Can you afford both Vandy and Emory?
Emory has a lot of jews, but I wouldn’t say that we’re too “jappy.” I’m jewish, and I definitely don’t fit that stereotype
Also, I grew up in Nashville, and I think Emory girls are much more real than Vanderbilt girls. Greek Life is a much bigger deal at Vanderbilt, and I think it’s more welcoming at Emory. Especially if you don’t want to feel pressured all the time, then I think Emory sounds like a better fit for you.
