I am not sure if this a new thing they added to the application process or if it means something else. I looked up what an EMPLID was for FSU and it says:
An EMPLID is provided to admissions applicants during the FSUID Registration process.
I’m not sure why they would include this if I haven’t received a decision yet, and I don’t want to make assumptions and get my hopes up.
It really doesn’t mean anything as to whether you get accepted or rejected. It’s an official ID number that FSU assigns you in order for you to get an FSUID (the email address they give you).
I believe you can create your FSUID even before you’re accepted, so you’d need the EMPLID before acceptance. They might have changed that, though.
Edit- Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it means you didn’t get in. It’s probably a good sign if this just happened to be added today, but odds are that it probably wasn’t.
It’s an identifier. My son got one while in High School and attending band camp at FSU before he even applied to FSU. It’s a way to keep track of fees and payments etc.
