I'm trying to decide where I want to go in the Spring, UF or USF. I've heard story after story about how good UF is, but I saw something interesting in a ************** book at Barnes & Nobles. It said that only 36% of UF graduates are employed within in six months after graduation. The same book said at USF it was 71%. Is that true? Is it really that hard to find a job for UF graduates? I was a little shocked when I read that, I must admit.

That's has to be wrong. UF was ranked 13th overall for career services. The Career Resources Center at the Reitz Student Union is amazing.

Here is a link of interest. UF has the strongest career fairs in the state. Not even University of Miami can match us:

InsideUF - Preparing for the fall Career Showcase

I'd be curious to see the percentage of UF students who go on to graduate school right away. That might be throwing off the statistic.

Per this link:

Page 6 of 29 section B22.

36% had jobs right away.
22% were accepted into graduate or professional programs.

The USF CDS info link:http://usfweb2.usf.edu/infomart/cds/cds2007_2008.pdf
same section B22 page 5 of 32 had no information listed.

Highly suspect the info in that book you saw.

58% total isn't too bad for how big the CLAS is (heyooo).

I saw that same book. I think it's called College *******.

Woah, What's up with the asteriks?

In the CC world they consider that advertising for College P.....R

I can't figure out the word that was censored.... ? I never read or heard of the book so I have no idea.

I found this from the Common Data Set for 06/07:

Post-Graduation Activities of Graduating Seniors
Nearly three in five UF seniors have solid post-graduation plans - 36% have a definite job or are negotiating employment and 22% have been accepted into a graduate or professional degree program.
Only one in ten students say they do not have any plans to continue their education now or in the future.

It's at the bottom of Pg. 6 from this link:
