EMT training to biology major

I’m moving to California at the end of the month, and I want to get back in school possibly in January and my ultimate goal is to be a wildlife photojournalist but I can take photography an creative writing classes. I love to write, I love camping and the outdoors, so photography and journalism is something I can pratice on my own, I want to get my EMT training then work as a national park search and rescue. While I’m doing that finish my BA in Biology. Is that possible? can classes from EMT training be applied as college credits? I was planning on going to community college first then transferring to UCLA for my bio degree.

What level of EMT certification would that require you to get?

I have no experience with UCLA or colleges in California, but my first thought would be that any sort of EMT training/class wouldn’t count for credit toward your degree. EMT training has almost nothing to do with what you’d learn as a biology major, aside from a little basic anatomy and some superficial medical knowledge, even at the higher levels.
