So, I'm a first year in the E-School and I'm taking physics, and it isn't making any sense, and I'm not learning anything. I'm extremely frustrated. Does this mean I probably won't like engineering? I have to declare in April...

Some engineering disciplines like Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, etc. require little knowledge of mechanics, so you should look into those if any of them sound interesting.

Every major requires another semester of physics, including the ones listed above… None require more than 1 more semester. How are your other classes going? Are you still thinking about Civil Engineering?

Just FYI, Physics I is notoriously hard. But, this should be teaching you to reach out to the professor, TAs, and other students. Is it any one topic? Or just in general? Have you tried to get help?

PS- you’re learning stuff, you’d be surprised on how much you’re retaining :)
