Engineering computers

would somebody please tell me what type of computer is recommended for duke engineers? My computer just crashed and it will not start back up so am in desperate need of a new one. If somebody could also post the site with the computers on it from duke that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!!

Speaking from personal experience, any type of computer (that you get will work fine as an engineer. The main thing you'll use your computer for as an engineer will be MATLAB (and all the programs that you need to get to it) and those are all readily available. If you're worried about Mac vs. PC, I'd say at least a third of the engineers have a Mac. Just to give you an idea, I'd say the top three brands are probably Dell, Mac, IBM (lenovo) if you're curious.

The website with the computers is...
:: Duke University Stores - Computer Store Computers ::

Although if you're thinking about buying a computer, know that it is more expensive to buy it off that website.

I have no idea how Duke OIT is with different types of computers because I've never used them. Good luck :)
